Hello!

I’m Lauren, an author based in Los Angeles, CA. My first novel, SOCIETY OF LIES, a dark academia set at Princeton, was a national bestseller and Reese’s Book Club Pick. I’m excited to share my new novel, THE INHERITANCE THIEF, a character-driven thriller about love, friendship, and family secrets set in Malibu, CA and the French Alps.

It follows a young woman named Zoe, who gets her dream job working for successful film director Simone Rothwell, only to learn that Simone may have been involved in a decades-old disappearance in the French Alps when her boyfriend got lost in a storm and never returned.

As Zoe investigates, she learns that her own mother was on that trip, too, and may have had something to do with it.

Writing brings me such joy, and I enjoy sharing these stories with readers just as much as I enjoy writing them. It’s the discussion of the ideas within the novels that excites me most, the way that they make us think about our own lives, love, and relationships.

Journaling is a central part of my process as it allows me to focus my thoughts and draw deeper meaning from my experiences. Sometimes I will take lines directly from my journal and integrate them into my writing.

My goal is to write entertaining thrillers that make us think deeply about who we are and how we move through the world, to explore truth and what it means to be human.

Before writing novels, I graduated with a degree in English from Princeton and an MFA in film production from USC School of Cinematic Arts, later working as an editor and cutting assistant on documentaries, TV shows, films, and commercials for HBO, Netflix, Disney, and more.
